Art & Culture
Following on from the success of the Lumen Prize installations that came to Leeds Dock as part of the Leeds Digital Festival we are very excited to have commissioned ‘Light Water, Dark Sky’ by Squidsoup as our contribution to Light Night Leeds 2016.
‘Light Water, Dark Sky’ is an large, immersive three-dimensional digital art installation that we installed on a floating pontoon in the middle of Leeds Dock.
Created by leading digital artists Squidsoup, and based on an original commission by Quays Culture, the installation is made up of 6000 individually programmable lights that pulsate and change colour giving the impression of the movement of water to fit with the Light Night Leeds theme of ‘The Elements’.
The installation was accompanied by music from their long-time collaborator Four Tet and participants received a pair of headphones to fully immerse themselves in this incredible experience.
Our friends at Sonder Studios produced a couple of fantastic videos for us that have really captured the essence of the installation and peoples reactions.
Thank you to everyone who came down to the Dock to take part.
