James Lavelle is one of Britain’s most influential artists. His extraordinary career spans music, fashion, art, moving image, digital art, brand, marketing, merchandise and events.
He played his first DJ set at 14, launched pioneering record label Mo’Wax at 18 and released the genre defining UNKLE album Psyence Fiction at 22.

As part of the ‘Daydreaming with UNKLE presents The Road Part 1: Leeds’ exhibition and programme of activities Leeds BID and Leeds Dock are very proud to present the unique opportunity to hear from the mo’ wax and UNKLE founder on his influences, creative processes and the cultural impact of his work. Chinwag’s Chris Madden will be hosting the event and digging deep into 25 years of creativity.
This event is essential for anyone from the creative industries and with an interest in culture and subcultures.
