WHO WE ARE
Leeds Dock is a creative waterside village where innovation, culture and enterprise come together to create a place that brings a new dimension to the city of Leeds.
Breathing life into an untapped destination with unique potential, developers Allied London have focused on the core values of community, collaboration and experience to create a vibrant and dynamic destination with national appeal.
Inherently welcoming, Leeds Dock is a place for all, embodied by the vast range of businesses, groups and individuals onsite. From global media companies, to local coffee roasters, thinkers and leaders, Leeds Dock has a natural gravitas that nurtures, encourages and inspires.
WHERE WE CAME FROM
Leeds Dock has played an integral part in the city of Leeds’ history. Constructed in 1843, it was originally a thriving dock for boats transhipping goods and became a key part to all business and commerce growth in Leeds city centre.
Allied London acquired what was formerly known as Clarence Dock in 2012. The original use, consisting of high end retail and leisure was unsuccesful with the scheme failing to attract the required footfall and it becoming largely vacant in 2012.
Throwing away the rule book, Allied London revamped the structure and make-up of Leeds Dock, swapping shops for Sky and chains for coffee roasting. Creating a place that people hadn’t seen before has been the key to Leeds Dock’s reinvention.
“Once we rid ourselves of traditional thinking we can get on with creating the future.”
OUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
Continuing to invest time, energy and funds into ensuring Leeds Dock stays at the top of its game are our priorities into 2016 and beyond. Leeds Dock benefits from a coming together of state-of-the-art infrastructure, interesting amenity and waterside setting that organically attracts the energetic, brave and passionate. New food and drink, unique events and design-led buildings and installations will continue to evolve as we commit to creating a new destination that brings a new dimension to the city of Leeds.
