The word on the water is that this floating bookshop is a book lover’s dream to browse bestsellers and under-the-radar novels that deserve more hype!

Thursdays: 11am – 8pm
Fridays: 11am – 6pm
Saturdays: 10am – 5pm
Sundays: 11am – 4pm
The canal boat has a rich 76 year history having once been used to transport coal to Thornhill Power Station, however the origin of its name, Marjorie R, remained a mystery that was only recently solved by the Yorkshire Post!
Marjorie Reed, wife of Reg Reed who was president of the Yorkshire Coal Exchange, christened the boat in 1946, with the ceremony following tradition with a bottle of champagne being smashed on the bow of the new vessel.
