Leeds was transformed into a twinkling wonderland for the 19th year of Light Night which attracted 100,000 visitors over 2 days.
After the sun set, beneath a star-strewn sky, visitors were invited to view more than 50 installations across the city that were guaranteed to add a touch of magic to their week.
Leeds Dock proudly displayed a captivating never-before-seen artwork entitled O.T. 1191 by internationally-renowned artist Stefan Reiss that was composed of ship ropes and metal beams and accompanied by a mesmerising 8-minute display of projections that bathed The Boulevard in an ethereal, abstract glow.
In addition, there was Evanescent by Atelier Sisu on display that featured larger-than-life bubbles that were iridescent in the sunlight and when darkness fell, vibrantly sparkled as well as The Shape of Light by Alex Webb, an installation that juxtaposed the power of large, three-dimensional steel shapes with the softness of alluringly simple yet stunning lines of light and colour.
A calendar staple, the countdown for Light Night Leeds 2024 has now begun!
