LEEDS INDIE FOOD FESTIVAL 2016 AT LEEDS DOCK
IMAGES COUTSEY OF LEEDS INDIE FOOD FESTIVAL
A Celebration of Independent Food & Drink
Organisers have announced that the success of last year’s debut event, which featured more than 100 food and drink events, has meant many of the region’s indie restaurants, bars, street vendors and coffee shops have already shown an appetite for a second course.
We can’t wait to welcome Leeds Indie Food to Leeds Dock as part of their city-wide annual schedule of events. Leeds Indie Food will again climax with a Leeds Feast event on the South Bank, which last year welcomed more than 6,000 people to The Tetley, but the finale of this year’s festival will be spread around Leeds’ Northern Quarter on May 28.
Here at Leeds Dock we will have 3 Leeds Indie Food pop-up events including Brett Barnes Thorback, Pop Up & Play Café & North Star Home Brew Coffee Masterclass.
Visitors can pick and choose the events they wish to attend although a Festival Passport offering priority tickets, discounts, freebies and deals at festival venues is available for £10. This year’s festival is being run in partnership with Leeds City Council.
Alternatively there are links to book tickets below.

Leeds Dock’s very own North Star will host a two-and-a-half hour session covering it all, from coffee origins and processing to selecting the right beans for your chosen brew, plus water quality, filtration methods and the best equipment. After that it’s over to you to put knowledge into practice at North Star’s brand new training facility where you will be able to take charge of La Marzocco espresso machines.
North Star will be participating in no less than 4 events this year (a slight increase on the one we did last year!) and they are looking forward to collaborating with some of their customers to bring you a variety of deliciousness and informative chit chat.

Creative family favourites Pop Up and Play are popping up for #LIF16 at Leeds Dock with a unique European-style cafe in collaboration with Tom Cockerill, the Rare Breed Chef. With two brunch and one dinner service daily, you’ll be able to grab awesome food and indulge in some enthusiastic play, catch a movie and even make the most of a bottle of wine.
Pop Up & Play was formed in 2014 through a mutual love of design and belief that just because something is created for children the aesthetic of a space should not be compromised. Since then they have developed into a company that not only specialises in families at events, but also theming and visual merchandising. Operating out of Leeds they work throughout the country creating spaces that people talk about and enjoy being in.
