GET READY TO BE GLOW-N AWAY
Leeds will once again sparkle with creativity as Leeds Light Night Leeds returns for its landmark 20th edition this October. As the UK’s largest light art festival, Light Night Leeds will light up the city centre on 24 and 25 October, from 6pm to 10pm. The festival will feature an extraordinary programme of large-scale projections, live street theatre and interactive installations, transforming some of Leeds’ most iconic locations into a dazzling spectacle.
Monad at Leeds Dock
This year, Leeds Dock will be a central highlight of the festival. One of the standout installations will be Monad by Norwegian artist Anastasia Isachsen. This breathtaking piece will be projected onto the water at Leeds Dock, creating a mesmerising visual display inspired by the cyclical nature of life, rebirth and the universe. Accompanied by a compelling soundscape, Monad promises to deliver a captivating experience against the picturesque backdrop of the dock.
Additional Highlights Across Leeds
Parallels by Architecture Social Club
Near the new Aire Park, outside The Tetley, multi-coloured laser beams will pulse and flicker to a captivating electronic soundscape, providing another enchanting experience during the festival.
MAPP by AlexP
Dutch duo AlexP will bring MAPP to life with colourful projections of silhouettes and patterns from an old-fashioned pram, adding a whimsical and vibrant element to the festival.
Live Street Performances
This year’s festival will also feature dynamic street performances, including a giant Ghost Caribou, the return of the popular Spark Drummers and a fire-breathing dragon.
With over 1.1 million visitors drawn to Light Night Leeds over the years and last year’s event attracting a record 200,000 attendees, this year’s festival is set to be a spectacular celebration.
