We have four amazing pieces at Leeds Dock this year. The first is Voyage: an interactive floating boat installation by the artists Aether & Hemera, presented by the British Library at Boston Spa. A colourful and spectacular light show, Voyage features over 100 illuminated origami boats with which you can interact and control from your smartphone.
The second is Wat Buddharam, who invite you to join them in Krathong making for the Thai Buddhist Loy Krathong festival. It marks the end of Buddhist lent and is a beautiful celebration of light involving displays on lakes and rivers. On Light Night you can participate in the festivities by making and launching your own illuminated flower boat, helping to create an evolving and eye-catching spectacle across the water.
The third is an exclusive art commission by Alex Webb for Allied London which explores geometric arrangements of light and shadow set against an urban backdrop of granite, glass and water.
The fourth is “MBS”, a trilogy of light boxes hand crafted by the team at Curiosity Allotment.
