Celebrating the diverse and thriving creativity of Leeds, Light Night Leeds is an annual FREE multi-arts and light festival that takes over Leeds City Centre from 6:30pm – 10:30pm on 12 & 13 October.
This year’s festival theme is ‘Future Dreaming’. Artists from around the world will create pieces to be displayed around the city, indoors and outdoors, projected onto buildings and in live-action performances.

There will be over 50 artworks lighting up the city during Light Night Leeds, with 3 spectacular installations located right in the heart of Leeds Dock! See details below:
O.T. 1191 by Stefan Reiss
A specific colour has been assigned to every letter of the Latin alphabet according to its sound. These digital signs have then been given a real, haptic form via the use of ship ropes and structures in this never-before-seen artwork.
Evanescent by Atelier Sisu
This larger-than-life artwork stands at 8m tall. You’re invited to walk underneath and among bubbles which iridescently shine in the sunlight and glow in the moonlight, alongside an accompanying ethereal soundscape.
The Shape of Light by Alex Webb
An installation that juxtaposes the power of large, three-dimensional steel shapes with the softness of alluringly simple yet stunning lines of light and colour.

In addition, the Royal Amouries’ combat team will host live-action, family-friendly performances at 7:30pm, 8pm, 8:30pm and 9pm each day at the foot of the magnificent Hall of Steel where a ship has run aground; its sailors mesmerised by something in the water. What could it be? Dare you come and find out?
Light Night Leeds promises to deliver an experience that’s nothing short of spectacular.
