Making a Splash

There’s a jam-packed schedule of events and experiences for all to enjoy across the Leeds Waterfront Festival weekend from 5 – 6 July 2025.

This year’s event promises to be the best yet with 24 teams competing in the Dragon Boat Race from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 5 July for the chance to be crowned the champion. There will also be prizes for the best fancy dressed team too! There will be plenty of space for family and friends to cheer on teams during the Dragon Boat Race.

In addition to family-friendly rides across the weekend, there will also be DJ sets from 5 – 6 July.

How to Join the Action

Ready to be part of the excitement? To join the Leeds Dock Dragon Boat Race, simply gather your squad of 7–11 people (or up to 20 for flexibility) and secure your spot by booking your dragon boat for £300.

Get creative with your team name and fancy dress, as there are prizes up for grabs for the best efforts! Participants must be aged 16 or older, with signed parental consent required for minors. Once registered, you’ll receive all the details you need to prepare for the big day.
